The time has come, said the Walrus...

to talk of other things. Of shoes and ships and ceiling wax. And Cabbages and kings. And why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings. Calloo, Callay! We'll eat today! Like cabbages and kings!

That is one of my favorite little ditties. I don't know if I got the punctuation right as I can recite it out loud as well as in my head. Do you know it? Remember it?

I had like the longest week evah! And it was only 4 days long. January is fully upon us and February, the longest month of the whole damn year, is right around the corner. Spring will come. Just not soon enough.

I didn't make a single New Year's resolution but now am ready to get my butt moving...It is time to get back on the diet and start working out. However else can I hope to hang with the Roller Derby Girlz? Beyond that I have been straight-up effing-lazy when it comes to my house. I took a spot on the board of our rescue which involves a bit more of a time commitment. While my house might have been teetering on the edge of cleanliness previously it's pretty much all gone to pot now. I try to declutter at least once a year and I don't believe I really did that last time...My friends said I did but I think I just hid the shit to put the house on the market. Fast forward several months and we've pulled the shit out but not put everything away.

I vow to keep my Freecyclers busy...I vow to clean my house, torturing and prodding the kids along beside me the whole way...and when the warm sunshine whispers our name we'll be all ready to go out and play without a care indoors.

For me, Winter is a time of hibernation. If your heart is telling you to wallow, wallow away my friend.

If that makes your skin crawl, how about wallowing part-time and not beating yourself up about it. It is only 6 weeks of wallowing...which is really only like a cup of coffee ; )

  2. Well I certainly did hibernate but now am looking forwards and getting ready. It's a cycle I like. If you throw in vacation (whereupon I did nothing) I've already wallowed for about 5 weeks. :)

Waiting for Spring makes be get busy, feel optimistic and happy as I watch for signs and changes daily. I pointed out buds are forming on the bushes at work and they just thought I was nuts. I had to "esplain" they are a promise whispered.
