Run-Run-Run, As Fast as You Can

I haven't run in about 5 1/2 yrs but am getting ready to pick it back up. Actually I've probably never really run. I have jogged though. Slowly. We have a 10k here every spring and I'm thinking that will be my goal event, giving me plenty of time to get ready...Meaning I've done it before but would like to do it better.

I tend to get terrible shin splints and end up having to ice my legs so may find myself supplementing with the elliptical and saving the running for my long run days but we'll see. I got some tips from a distance runner I know so maybe it will all work out. I really do believe getting help with my form would do wonders but of course I have to get started 1st.

Anyone care to join?

My hubby is a runner and ran the Richmond Marathon in November. There's a Richmond Roadrunners club you can join and train together. He really enjoyed it and the tips and training he got really helped him out.

  2. I'm gonna pass on this one...but I will get my lawn chair out (beer holder included) and cheer you on from the sidelines!

  3. My knees really bother me when I run - so I've had to stick to the cross-trainer. But I love the rush that comes with running.
