Are you Green or simply an opportunist?

I'm the latter. I am not a very green girl but I go there when it makes sense to me...My sister made fun of me recently for making myself a rain barrel when I still refuse to recycle at home. I know, I know. But already having to remember to haul the trash out to the curb weekly makes it impossible for me to collect my recyclables and get them to the curb too when the bastards only come 2x a month...Anyone who knows me is aware I'd constantly be missing the day and then have piles of the crap once I finally got it right. I just don't need the presure. Hopefully I make up for my transgressions in other areas.

Someone asked what freecycle is...Well, it's just cake and sunshine! Here's what the have on the welcome page: Welcome! The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,774 groups with 6,993,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!

And here's the link: http://www.freecycle.org/

What have I used it for? I've given away a grill, sandbox, toddler play equipment, children's clothes, plastic tables and chairs and much more. I've gotten my iron king size bed, a living room chair, numerous plants and bushes, and even dog supplies for my fosters.

You post the stuff you don't want. Someone who wants it e-mails you and you let them come get it. It's awesome to declutter AND have someone come take it away. You might lose a small tax deduction but you make someone (plus yourself) happy and remove some of the work. Win-Win.

Go now! Check it out!
