Makin' it easy to be grateful

You know, I struggled with the oldest...It took hard work and a lot of effort to stay one step ahead of her, but she did it...She did graduate high school. She has no motivation for college or a trade school yet but I still have hope.

Then the son entered school. He does his own homework without follow up...Monday he decided to do the week worth of homework in one night so he wouldn't have much to do the rest of the week. On.His.Own. He behaves in school. He likes sports and he got his interim yesterday complete with 4 A's and 2 B's. I am so proud of my little honor roll student!

I'd like to think that we shape how our children handle things much more than I really think we do. Either way, something is going right. The 2 youngest love school thus far. The eldest never did. For this I can be truly grateful!

  1. Isn't it amazing? Each kid is different, but each one brings something so special to this world...my two are very different (and very different ages) but sometimes they are so much alike.

My oldest is just finishing the upgrading that will (hopefully) get her into college. She didn't finish high school, and now, at almost 20, she's realized that she needs to have an education in order to get somewhere. And she's found her passion, and to get there, she needs college. Perhaps your oldest will find her way there later on.

Awesome on the honor roll!! As far as college, I wouldn't push to much if it was me. Some are better off not going back to college right away. They need to make sure they are ready, I think they will do a better job.
