Internets, let's settle an argument...

Does your car run better after an oil change? You know is it a more responsive, smooth beast? Is there more power?

What do you think? I think so but was told today that only girls believe it and it's all in my head. I say crack is bad!

  1. It does run better. Of course, it does. Don't you weigh less and shit easier when you get a colon cleanse? I'm just sayin' . . .

  2. Our car is 21 years old, and I haven't ever noticed a change in how it runs after just an oil change. Changing the air filter can make a difference or if they replaced the PCV valve when they changed your oil that would be noticeable as well if it were a bit dirty/clogged.

I know, more info than you asked for...

  3. Hell if I know. My truck dings at me when I need to change the oil (tells me every 3000 miles).

    Does it??

You know, I always thought my car ran better after doing so. Makes sense but also wondered maybe if it is all in the head.

  5. Yes. It goes through less gas after an oil change.

  6. I know it runs better if you let it get down to the last drop and then put some in. Not that I did that this weekend or anything. (Car started jerking, I started cussing, it was suggested that perhaps my oil was low, I checked and saw that my last oil change was about...ummm, maybe 12,000 miles ago...and sure enough...baby was THIRSY!)

Note to self: get oil changed on time.

  7. OH and I do know that you will get better gas milegage after you have someone change your oil...

    Know why?

    Wait for it...

    Wait for it...

Because they fill your tires with air when they change your oil...it has nothing to do with the oil change itself though...
