We had the man on the field 6 of 7 days last week. It really is a bit much but Friday was dedicated to Homecoming Fun! We all sat around eating Little Ceasar's pizza with varios folks popping on and off the fieldto dance to the Cuban Shuffle, the Macarena, the Casper Slide and more. I'm so glad we have a parent who's a sound freak because it made a marked improvement over last year. Each child had their name called and cam out to the crowd...4 squads of Cheerleaders and Football Players. That's a lot of kids! We did draw "Prince" and "Princess" for each squad out of a hat and they got to drive through the balloon arch in a golf cart.
Then? The coup de grace! Kids got to buy a $1 raffle ticket to pie the coach of choice...All the boys had talked and about half agreed they all wanted to get Coach Scott! They all chickened out except my son. The coached tried threats. Then moved on to bribes. None of it worked. He WAS pied...but payback is a bitch and Coach Scott pied him back! He handled it all in stride. Everyone laughed, but I think the boys may have been a bit green too. ;)
