We hit Maymont Park this week...It is a jewel in our fair city...
There are beautiful gardens. Italian, Japanese, Butterfly and more. They take in and care for animals that can't fend on their own. In addition to the petting farm they have fish, birds, foxes, bison, bear and more. I've been going there since I was a small child and am pleased my children enjoy the beauty and adventure to be found there too.
And hell yeah I took that pic...No editing, touching up, nothing! BooYaa! I'm finally getting the hang of my new camera...My nasty Internet will not cooperate so I'll show you more later.
Today we hit the River! Walking across the suspension bridge and down trails into our abandoned hydro-electric power plant and seeing things like herons, caterpillar nests and a spider as big as my palm made for a great day! We took Layla with us and she was as good as gold. I did not let any dogs approach or folks pet her and she reacted very well to everyone. We climbed on rocks and all swam in the river and walked for miles covering well over 50% of Belle Isle and Browns Island + the bridge to Southside. (Sprout stayed home since he's not a water boy and has bad knees. lol)...Everyone enjoyed the trip. Minnows tickled our toes, the sun kissed our skin and breezes rustled by...Heading home to grill out was the perfect way to end a beautiful day.
Bears? That sounds like such a cool place!
